ART-2-GOGH PAINTING PARTY APRIL SPECIAL!

If you haven't tried one of our ART-2-Gogh Painting Parties, now is the time...or should I say April is. We are running a special for the month to entice you and your friends to come join us. Or come again! This Saturday night we are painting a scene of the Guadalupe River that was inspired by a photo I took while enjoying a drive up River Road one afternoon. We still have openings and would love for you to join us! Next week, we are painting Gruene Hall on Friday night (April 8) and still have about 4 openings. On Saturday night, April 9, we'll be painting Flower Vase, one of my newest additions to the line up featuring a whimsical and colorful flower in a vase being visited by a butterfly. See all of the images at www.art-2-gogh.com.

So what's the special, you ask?
Reg price is $39 per person or $69 for a couple. Our April super special: $29 per person or $49 per couple!

How does it work, you ask? You pick a night, invite a date or friend or maybe several friends and sign up. Bring some wine and/or light snacks if you like. We will have EVERYTHING else you need: the canvas, brushes, paints and even cups, napkins and a corkscrew! Complimentary coffee, water and tea are available. Parties are scheduled on Friday and Saturday nights, 6-9 p.m.

Again, visit www.art-2-gogh.com for more information.

APRIL CLASSES: OILS, WATERCOLOR, PHOTOGRAPHY

Can you believe that March is almost over? It's starting to "green up" in the Texas Hill Country and the wildflowers are popping out. I love Spring, don't you?

We had a wonderful Spring Open House and Artists Reception on Sunday. Visitors enjoyed seeing the Blooming Wonderful Art Exhibit, watching demos by Leila Reynolds (silk painting) and Lynette Clauser (stained glass), talking with artists and sipping on wine. The kids (and adults, too), had fun at the make-it-n-take-it table where they designed bookmarks and doorhangers.

Several people signed up for classes and ART-2-Gogh Painting Parties and many picked up our new, hot-off-the-press, Summer Camps-n-Classes schedule. We'll have the 2011 online soon. In the meantime, if you'd like to see what we are offering, just contact me and I'll fix you up.

April Classes at Casa de Linda Art Center, New Braunfels, Texas
If you live in the New Braunfels area and you've been thinking about taking art classes, there's no time like the present! We are enrolling adults for Beginning Lead Stained Glass on Saturday mornings, Basic Watercolor on Monday afternoons, Basic Oil Painting on Tuesday nights, and Basic Digital Photography on Wednesday mornings...all starting the first week of April.

Beginning Lead Stained Glass will meet on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-12 noon for 5 weeks starting April 2. Taught by Lynette Clauser, this class is perfect for anyone who has ever wanted to try stained glass as well as for folks who have worked with it and need a refresher...or just a place to work, use of tools and some guidance. Fee is $195 for the 5-week course, and that includes EVERYTHING you need: glass, lead, and supplies as well as use of tools and equipment.

Basic Watercolor meets for 4 weeks on Monday afternoons from 1-4 p.m. starting April 4. Maren Phillips will teach you all about using watercolors, types of paper, special techniques and more. The fee is $125 for 4 weeks. When you sign up, we'll give you a list of supplies that you'll need to bring with you to the first class.

Basic Oil Painting is also taught by Maren and will meet on Tuesday nights from 6-9 p.m. for 4 weeks starting April 5. You'll complete 3-4 paintings plus a color study in this informative course. Fee is $125 for the course, plus supplies (you'll get the list when you sign up).

Basic Digital Photography meets on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to Noon for 4 weeks starting April 6. David Jacobson will take the mystery out of working with digital cameras while teaching you about principles of photography. Fee is $125, which includes use of camera during class, a CD of all images shot plus a couple of enlargements and mats.
