Linda Has Her Own Austin Art Gallery...

To display her newest Texas wildflower art paintings. At least that is what it felt like after getting 24 of her contemporary wildflower art paintings hung this last Monday at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center. There are 17 new paintings never seen before outside of Casa De Linda Art Studio and Gallery. This art exhibition runs through December 14th so it really is for the next two months anyway, like having a Contemporary Wildflower Art Gallery in Austin Texas.

With ample room and gallery style spot lighting, this is an incredible opportunity to see Linda’s artwork and really have a great viewing experience in a comfortable quiet setting. The McDermott Learning Center and Gallery is the old carriage house that was located behind the historic Driskill Hotel located in downtown Austin Texas at 604 Brazos Street. It was moved and renovated at the Wildflower Center in the 1990’s and has since been used as a venue for fine art exhibitions of Texas and nationally recognized artists. Most of this artwork has revolved around Texas and wildflowers, so Linda’s wildflower paintings feel right at home.

Linda will be having a meet the artist reception this coming Saturday October 18th 2008 from 12 P.M. to 2 P.M. This is a wonderful opportunity to see and discuss this colorful, contemplative Texas artwork. This one-woman art show by Linda Calvert Jacobson officially runs from October 18th to December 14th. If you can’t make the reception there will still be ample time to swing by immerse yourself in this exhilarating Texas contemporary art exhibit.

"Summer of Luv" Wildflowers Featured at New Braunfels Art League Gallery

It is an honor and a privilege to be chosen as Artist of the Month and to be recognized by her artist peers for the unique beauty and joyful expressions that Linda continues to develop with her floral artwork focused on wildflowers. Linda has evolved her Texas art with a distinctive style and grace that stays true to her roots with unique colorful interpretations of wildflowers for the world to enjoy.

The “Summer of Luv” a brand new series of wildflower paintings is being featured at the New Braunfels Art League Gallery for the month of October. Linda will have an artist reception on Thursday October 9th from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M. The reception is being held in conjunction with the New Braunfels Wine Stroll in downtown during the same hours.

This new series harkens back to the sixties with tie-dyed t-shirts and colorful expressive art where flower power ruled supreme. It seems we have come full circle in some ways with troubled times of war and economic upheaval in the forefront of the daily news. Our human instinct is to seek refuge in the soothing arms of Mother Nature.

Whether you grew up during the sixties or came of age after this time its indelible mark continues to reverberate over the decades. Seeking the solace of nature and using it so creatively in the art during that time helped relieve the stress and tensions amongst all the turmoil and challenges that surrounded us then as it can even now.

Linda approaches her art as therapy for our mind and soul freeing us from the challenges and stresses that are a part of our daily lives. She is honored that so many folks understand the joy and beauty that her wildflower paintings can bring into their lives. They have chosen to find a spot in their homes so they can experience the healing effects of her wildflower artwork.

As soon as possible these newest works will be available on the Casa De Linda website but for now you can go to the New Braunfels Art League Gallery throughout the month of October and see them in person. or go to NBAL website and click on the Artist of the Month picture.
This post is made by David, Linda’s husband while she gets ready for the reception later today. We both hope to see you there!
