Wassailfest 2009 in New Braunfels TX

Wassailfest 2009 in New Braunfels is fast approaching. This hometown festival is held the first Thursday of December each year. For 2009, Wassailfest will be on December 3rd from 6-9 p.m. The streets throughout downtown will be closed to motored vehicles. This allows families and folks of all ages to come down and enjoy the Christmas lights and sip from over 41 wassail-stops this year. Here is a tip: drink small portions so you can try several with out "floating away"! Over 10,000 attended in 2008 and the weather looks like it will perfect with a chill in air to help us all get into the holiday spirit.

Casa De Linda Art Studio/Gallery will be open and is having a student art show with over 20 participating students. Paintings include those from the children's art classes, ages 8-12 years, and from the adult art classes. Casa De Linda is for most of the year a working art studio but a few times each year we transform it into an Art Gallery.

WILDFLOWER GREETING CARDS FOR THE HOLIDAYS

For the last 3 years I've designed a greeting card for the holidays to sell in my online store using one of my wildflower paintings as the central theme. This year I chose "South Texas Tapestry," which is a field of wildflowers with an oak tree standing guard, and placed the scene in a "snow globe". The flowers are in various colors but you can see that there are bluebonnets, verbena, paintbrush, and primrose, along with an assortment of yellow blooms in several shades. These are truly Texas Christmas Cards, designed by a native Texan, with a Texas Wildflower theme. However, since wildflowers are universal, they can be enjoyed by everyone.

I also like to offer several options on the greeting. So you can choose between "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas". And for folks sending the cards from Texas, you can choose to the "Happy Holidays from Texas!" or "Merry Christmas from Texas!" greeting.

All of the cards are blank on the inside so you have plenty of room to add your own personal message. The are available as large 5x7 greeting cards or smaller note cards (perfect for including with a gift or as thank you notes), each in packs of 10 or 20. You can choose a glossy or matte finish.

I have just finished lining up a full schedule of art classes for Spring 2010 that I will offer at my Casa de Linda Art Studio in downtown New Braunfels, Texas. Highlights include:
